I'm staying in Cape Kiwanda this weekend. Looks like there will be some NNW winds in the 20's. Can someone give me some good locations to go close by. looks like the wind will be blocked off at the main beach here by Cape Kiwanda. Thanks! come join:)

North of the Cape there is beach access at Tierra Del Mar. I have been paragliding the cape and a few weeks ago there was a kiter having a good time. Maybe I will bring my kite this time.

Check out Sand Lake for knee deep flat water. 10 minutes north of PC at Whalen Island. I had a nice session back in April.Needs high tide or tide coming in, search the site for more intel, thats how i found it.

What wind does sand lake work on?
My relatives literally live right across the road from it and I've thought about kiting many times at family events! Looks like you need a lot of west?

NW and SW both work. I was on SW the day I went back in April. From the day use parking head straight west on trail to small launch area. Drift or buddy launch in knee deep water. Walk upwind first if you're still working on staying upwind on the board.
