Don't know if anyone will know this in Slingshot Country, but can anyone tell me how long the bar throw is on the Ocean Rodeo freeride bar?

I recently acquired a 2013 OR Prodigy 9.5m, but it didn't come with a bar. I know that the OR bars use a much longer throw than my Slingy bars. I was thinking about retrofitting one of my bars with a longer chicken loop line. I'm worried about not being able to achieve full depower if I just rig the kite and go on a Slingy bar. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I found this on another forum. It was posted by John Z of Ocean Rodeo.

With regards to bar throw, the Freestyle Bar has the least with 45cm total potential bar travel, the Fusion Bar the 2nd most with 70cm total potential bar throw and the Freeride Bar also has 70cm of potential bar throw unless you elect to slide the stopper up and over the line plug which normally prevents the stopper from going any higher. (This is a great option for beginners / schools as well as for advanced riders heading out in stormy conditions who want the option to simply let go for full depower.)

Just what I was looking for. Thank you!

I'll post some pictures once the mod is done and let you all know how it turns out.

If you're using the newer slingshot bar with the depower below the bar it will work fine as it is. If you want more depower you can make the chicken loop line longer, but it will work fine as it is, as long as all 4 lines (at fully sheeted in) are equal in length. The newer OR freeride bars have a long throw to the front line split. You set the actual throw with the stopper ball. This makes it very flexible. Choose the throw you want and go. Hope this helps.
