I did a lot of instruction with my GF on the parks.
they should be fine. they are good in regards to range of wind. it may be a little more challenging for you to learn water relaunch, but its easy once you figure it out.
naish makes another kite called the ride which is probably a better kite to learn on with good relaunch.
most newer kites are going to be a good kite to learn on, however it's always suggested to be used kites to learn on and trash them instead of newer kites.
either way you won't go wrong if you get the parks.

That is a pretty fast kite, which are not usually the best for beginners. Not the best choice IMHO.

I learned on 2012 Parks this year. They are fine.
You can attach the bridles to the forward attachment point for greater depower and attach the rear steering lines to the aft most point to slow down the turning speed. Once you are move comfortable, you can modify the attachment points to make more power and speed up the turning.
The Park is an extremely versatile kite!

I find they waterstart fine until the wind is so light you will have a difficult time getting going with any kite. Even then, if you get the optional LWR (light wind relaunch) line it will turn over in the lightest wind. I have a bar rigged with the LWR line for those days where the wind is iffy and may drop too much. I can relaunch my 12 with the LWR in winds most 14's can't get off the water.

I would say no.. It's too fast and hard to relaunch. also not a super stable kite. a dela-c hybrid would be more what you are looking for.

And DONT get talked into the Naish Ride 1 strut means not stable at all. also too fast for learning.

I would say in general don't get a kite with fewer than 3 struts.

the ride is sick for learning. the park is just fine. get lessons you will be fine. I have taught kiting on both from 0 to hero. and they are both wonderful kites.
