Any ideas on this ? I'm looking for a place where we can spurr of the moment - dirt bag it in our car. Any campgrounds/RV sites open this time of year?
We'd prefer to stay away from the tracks - i'm a light sleeper I guess. Any ideas in WA or OR would be appreciated.
thanks so much,
Kevin |

Tucker campground is 8-10 miles south of town on Tucker road/12th out of the heights. Camp next to the babbling, soothing river with no train every 45 minutes! _________________ moondog |

So this is CERTAINLY not close to HR. But still worth throwing out there. Maryhill has amazing camping sites. Super thick grass which makes Tent camping super comfortable, and it is protected from the wind. There is a launch right near by too. And the museum isn't bad + with the wine tasting is a pretty amazing trip. Strongly suggest it if you are looking for a weekend spot.

Viento has a great campground and it's open. Car camping in Post Canyon/Family Man works too if you're a conscientious camper. i.e. no fires and pack it all out. |

There's also Memaloose, between Mosier and Rowena. Coming from the west you have to go to Rowena and turn around, take the exit for the rest area then the campground is down the bluff. Not sure about trains there though. |

Is toll bridge the back up then?
