I'm driving over from Portland for the Blowout. Super stoked. Fingers crossed for more snow.
I'm a newbie to the area and to snowkiting. Can somebody help out with some basics for camas prairie?
- Is AT gear really needed or will i be fine with my downhilll setup?
- Where exactly is the kite area(s)? I've been searching online and can't find a map. Would somebody be willing to drop a pin on a google map and share?

People can park there at the Pine turn off and kite there, or about 3 miles down hwy 20 (east) there is a big turnout where snowmobilers set up. There is a warming hut and everything. This is where most the kiters set up also. I am sure Brad can give details as to the exact start of the PBR. AT gear is only needed if wind dies or kite breaks and you are a long ways from your car. Just don't go out any farther than you are willing to walk on downhill gear. Kind of like the rules for water - don't go out any farther than you are willing to swim back.............
