I know we already have a post about our event, so I'm done tooting my own horn.

But, if you are a fan of either living in Hood River, or visiting Hood River, this is a great weekend for you to come enjoy and support Hood River.

Your local Hood River businesses are working hard to support local events and opportunities for you to either, party like it's 1999, buy/sell your used gear, or demo the latest sup/kite/windsurf gear.

This weekend is sort of like your Kite/SUP/Windsurf superbowl weekend Alien

Sat May 22 - Season Opener Party - After you get your groove on in the gusty, but windy Columbia River come on down to the 2nd Wind Sports/CGKA "Season Opener Party" at the British Pub. This event has local music from Sunderland and Amery Bernard, and is sponsored by local businesses such as MLK, Dakine, Slingshot, Trew Gear,etc........ Twisted Evil

Sun AM May 23 - Windance Swap - Grab your coffee and get ready to buy or sell at the biggest Windance Swap Meet from 8am-noon. This is the biggest of the swaps and if you're not there to check out gear, it's a great way to catch up with friends. If you couldn't sell it at the swap, then bring it on in to either 2nd Wind or Windance to sell it for you. Very Happy

Sun Noon May 23 - Big Winds Beach Bash - After the Swap head on down to the Beach Bash to demo some of the latest windsurf, SUP and kite gear from BW. Very Happy

I think that I can speak for all of the other local Hood River businesses when I say this, " come on over to Hood River this weekend, rain or shine, it'll be worth your while. You all know we're good for some fun and if you don't end up spending all of your money on gear, we'll at least do our best to give you a decent hangover Thumb's Up

This Saturday's party was definitely one of our best events.
Packed house, quickly served beverages, no brawls, only 2 visits from the police/OLCC, the CGKA killed it with raffles/membership and we had enough money to pay the band!!

The CGKA for helping out/supporting 2nd Wind, and all the RAFFLE PRIZES!!
SUNDERLAND for playing an awesome gig all night
AMERY BERNARD for being willing to come and kill it with his soulful jamming
LAURA DINGMON for allowing us to bring our 3 ring circus of kiters up to the Horse and Hound (British) Pub and partying til 3am in the morning.
MLK and Slingshot for helping with the set up and pimping out the party area
NORTH, NPX,NAISH for the CGKA raffle prizes
DAKINE for the tents, shwag and raffle prizes
DC for the tent and shwag
LIQUID FORCE and CASCADE KITEBOARDING for representing with the big rigs

Next party is set for Friday JULY 2nd at the Horse and Hound Pub
This is the REAL big party - Snow Rail Jam on 4th St(if we get the permit), AWIP Movie Premiere in parking lot, and closing with live music from '10:30' in the pub.
