No idea how this happened--I think it might have been Bonetti thinking it was Adams board. How to fix this at home? Not overly concerned about cosmetics.

Thanks! Eric

Saturate with hobby (HR hobbies) quality super glue.
I'd probably use the water thin but may need to fill
a little too with gap filling (thicker) also. Depends.

Then quickly clamp the rail back together with a C-clamp
and two blocks of wood. Wax paper between the blocks
and board to keep the glue from sticking the blocks to
the board. Let cure for 30 minutes. Sand and fill as needed
with a few more coats of super glue. Sanding and then
applying thin super glue will allow the sanding dust to
act as a filler to build up/fill in any voids.

You could use epoxy too but then it would have to cure
for a couple of days and would take multiple steps.

Nice Post Hein! The super glue is a great idea to get back on the water quickly.

Question: What would you think of using pieces of cutting board instead of wood blocks? Since the glue won't stick to the HDPE, you could dispense with the wax paper. Just wondering if you thought the HDPE would be rigid enough. I'm just thinking of a minimalist repair kit I could keep in my car to repair a board & get back on the water.
