Tue Dec 02, 08 7:31 am I got called a TeaBagger by a windsurfer?? |
|
|
I got called a teabagger? Whats up with that?? I personally thought it was funny but I took it literally. I was jumping and not landing any of them, kinda dipping in the water like a tea bag.
Is it some trash talk windsurfers have for kiteboarders? Anyone find it offensive?
Had never heard it before.

in kiting terms,....
Teabagging is when your overpowered and get lifted off your feet repeatedly. This generally happens when your kite falls back into the power zone, only to load up and send you flying forward/downwind past the kite...the kite then falls back into the powerzone and proceeds to teabag you.
But coming from a windsmurfer.....dems fightin words

Hmm, "truth hurts?" maybe?
Or
"it takes one to know one?"
Maybe the windsurfer
is a kiter too.
Or is it strictly bloods and crips out there now?

At least we "kiters" CAN be lifted off the ground. That 100% completely the point to doing this type of thing. I don't see any windsurfers jumping to 40ft, and landing or droping into the water.
IMO this is what makes kiting better than windsurfing.
Not that windsurfing isn't cool cuz it is!
So talk sh*t all you want, kiters or windsurfers, because deep down none of it really matters.
Have a good one all!

Probably because you don't kite where this guy does:

Also a name surfers call bodyboarders. Bodyboards look like tea bags.

Depends. Was it meant to offend you? If so, there are much stronger words than that!
I've been called "pole dancer" when I was windsurfing. Once it was by a friend as he kited clear over my mast.
Classic pic of Dale Cook, by the way. I think that's a Richard Hallman shot.

I thought it was funny...I did call him a pole dancer in return. It kinda fits me since I do crash more jumps than land. Was thinking about changing my user names to teabagger lol!!

My buddy Jeff is a long time gorge pole sailor and he refers to all kiters as tea-baggers. It's all in good fun. He always says to me: "Man that looks fun. If I had health insurance and wasn't so old, I'd give it a try!"

No making fun of winsurfers unless you can boost as big as Dale Cook.

Dale Cook also used to go HUGE when he kited. I think he sold all of his kite gear like 8 years ago. Respect.

I would like to propose that henceforth any trick that involves jumping over and or pissing a windsurfer be properly named with the appropriate intro; teabag kungfu air, teabag f-16, and the teabag dangle. P.S. where the hell are kiteme, bulae, hamlind, blowme, spike, and the snow goddammit? sorry spike and hamlind, goddammit.
