The problem with tubing is that you can't maneuver your board around obstacles. (Doors, escalators and the like. ) I really like the new Lunacys, but not an option for me without a handle. I like the Gecko; nice work Hein. I've also wondered how hard it would be to install inserts? Would you just drill a hole, using some sort of depth limiter, and epoxy in an insert? Or is there more to it than that? An insert is a better option for me because sometimes I need no handle to pack the boards. Any info on installing inserts would be much appreciated Hein! Hein Since 08 Mar 2005 1314 Posts Possessed Sat May 24, 08 9:51 pm     Reasons not to add inserts to a thinner twin tip after the fact: Not good cutting through fibers in a less than desirable area of the board. The resin you'll use won't flex enough, makes a mess and sanding sucks. You can easily screw up and cut through the bottom. High likelihood of water ingress after a period of use. Adding inserts will reduce the resale value. Gecko handle could be removed with little evidence of it being there other than less fading where it was.
