Mon Dec 25, 06 2:51 pm Naish Warranty |
|

I think it is important to spread this information and to get this off my chest:
I bought a brand new Naish Raven in October and less than a week later, the first day I had it out, one of the bladders blew through the access zipper. The zipper broke, the bladder blew, and the kite ripped. It was a very light crash on water and should not have caused any damage. I reported it to the shop I bought it from immediately and I was told that it was a manufacturer's defect and that the warranty would definitely cover it. I sent pictures and a description and the shop filed the claim with Naish. I was told that Naish would send me out a new kite right away. I followed up on the claim every week and called both Naish and the kite shop multiple times.
Naish said that they were reorganizing and that claims were delayed and I haven't heard from them since.
At this point I am highly skeptical that I will ever hear from Naish or that they will ever replace my kite.
To sum it up -> Naish warranty is SHIT! don't buy any of their shitty products and expect them to stand behind it. _________________ breeze on-> |

I'd give it another go with the new support reps. They have gone through a lot of changes in the last year and you might have just gotten lost in the middle of it.
You might also try PM'ing BamBam or NaishUSA on the site... they could probably give you more direct help. |

I feel for you. I hate dealing w/ companies on legal stuff. (specially if you don't have a wife to help!)
At least w/ SlingShot you can drive up to Washington and kick their asses. |

Yeah, I agree with PKH here, I have never had a problem with a product..maybe because I used to be Best customer for a long time, but I did think there was a problem with a board I got, I was told to email them a picture of it..and they would take care of everything. It turned out there wasn't anything wrong, but their process seemed solid to me. As far as I understand they changed their US distributor, and your case might have fallen between the cracks. If you are promised something, it is well worth giving it another go for sure.
I found this information on the naish website:
Pacific Boardsports LLC
65435 Hwy 14, White Salmon, WA 98672
Tel. : (808) 575-5433

Good news. Kite-Line was finally able to organize my kite repair with Naish. Even though it's screwing up my quiver for my trip next week, I'm stoked that It will be fixed. Hopefully now that Naish is settled into their reorganization there won't be future problems with these issues. Thanks for all the advise. _________________ breeze on-> |

Pacific Boardsports is the correct organization now. Things are slowly getting set up, and I am glad that you were able to get help through a retailer.
Been slow going, but things will soon be back to normal and warranty will be even easier as you will be dealing directly with Naish instead of having to go through Northsport.
Kite on, and I'll be back in the NW in another three week.

Any item that is manufactured can have issues. Any brand, any model. You have to look at the whole company. The more you sell the more potential for problems. Sometimes they are manufacturing driven somtimes they are customer driven (like into the ground, tree ect). I think we are fortunate to have so many good companies to choose from. Slingshot, best, liquid force and of course my personal favorite Naish.
Point is dont base your opinions on one persons complaint or recommendation. Get out test fly the new models. They get better each year.
Now all we need is more wind so we can continue demoing the latest and greatest. _________________ Cleverly disguised as an adult...

Wano: It has been a few years. I think I read about another issue with some other kites you had. You and a dude named Colby are "Lemon Magnets". . .Between the two of you, there are probably have 8 good lemon stories to tell; all within the past couple of yrs. Shit happens; just seems like you get more than most. Glad your getting it resolved.
Are you down in PT school in PR? That plan ever materialize?

I had a minor problem with my Naish kite and Big Winds helped me out right away. I got a replacement part shipped directly to me from Pacific Boardsports almost immediately. I thought their service was top notch. _________________ Lets FLY |
