Is cottonwood beach near Clatskanie?
I never go to the gorge...just wondering since Clatskanie is only about 30 miles from our Astoria home.

And there is a 'cottonwood beach' that the rednecks go ride quads at out in Clatskanie.

The Washington side....up near Rosburg and Naselle has a really nice beach for kiting south and southwest winter winds. Warmer than PDX and the gorge in winter. We rode there a few times last winter. Would be nice to have a few winter rainkiters out there with us.

Cottonwood was absolutely dead calm, even though it was blowing about 25 in the parking lot. With the wind being NE, the trees created a big wind shadow. Camas was blowing about 25, but I didn't like the launch so I hit rooster at about 3:30...

Here you go....
Altoona Washington....the beach is about 100 yards long. SW winds are best. And you can drop a waverunner in because you can drive on to the beach.

Went out to RR on saturday - and the wind was spraying the white caps all over. I decided to pass and go mountain biking - seeings how my smallest kite was a 7M waroo.
