Hi All,
Not that anyone here really cares but I thought I would tell you all that I lost (and found) my board again. Yeah I'm the guy who flew out to Astoria looking for it last time and then saw on ebay and repurchased (is this a word because if it is it sucks?!) it for $100.
So anyhow I had a great session yesterday with Brian out a Frenchman's Bar. There was a guy there before us but was too far down the beach to get any wind and tore down. Showed up around 6 Pm. at 8ish the place really started cranking. Before it was more of a ride back and forth and try and stay up wind.
Anyhow, enough wind for me to try and jump and then get back upwind so I boost pretty decent and first jump lose my board. Turn around and I am way downwind from my board so I make a really long tack to try and get upwind as efficiently as possible. When I make my stretch back the board is nowhere to be found. The water is relatively flat despite the good winds so I drag back over to shore to find the place and no luck. Looking everywhere but can't find the thing.
Eventually after running up and down the shore I give up. This morning. I grab a kayak freaking paddle for miles looking for the thing and eventually find it. I'm stoked but then realize that I have to paddle almost 2 miles back upstream and I'm already beat.
All this leaves me wondering. Where did I put that leash... Last edited by Joshiebaby on Thu Jun 26, 08 12:22 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Dude - I'm glad you found your board, but it sucks you had to spend so much time and energy looking for it. The current has been really strong recently! _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

Screw the leash, I think the moral here might be that when it's getting dark it's best to keep the board on your feet. I'm glad you found it though and just think how all that paddling will pay off when you're riding unhooked... or something.
Almost 4 hours straight on the water wasn't too bad for a work day. Definitely slept in a bit this morning though. |

| Yeah man it was a great time. Gimme a call if it is setting up again tonight and we'll hit it... This time I'll be sure to make my sweeps a little shorter when body dragging back to it. |

| Pdxmonkeyboy why do you have to make everything so simple. Taking a kayak out in the early morning and battling the fisherman makes life so much more rich. |
