Anyone know? I just searched old threads on the forum, and didn't see much. There's a sensor at Rainer that I can see on windonthewater.com (thanks to funkysub), but there's no forecast.
Then there's the sailflow.com website, which seems cool, but hasn't seemed particularly accurate to me.
I kinda have this hunch that it'll just work when SI does, but that's just a hunch!

I've had really good luck with Jones when the ikitesurf sensor reads over ten west. I've heard Gene say that the gusts on the sensor is the wind on the water. Hope that helps.

Last year ikitesurf used to have reasonable forecasts for Jones. I don’s subscribe to them anymore, so cannot say about this year.

To get an idea of current Jones conditions I use wotw or http://nwwind.net/wind.php?region=9 linked on top. WOTW shows pretty much the same data, but has nicer graphical representation.

I like to see:
Astoria sensor about 10 W to WNW
Long_View sensor at least 8 W to NW
and Astoria - Kelso pressure .02 or more

It is even safer bet if Kelso is sunny.

I got entire beach to myself last Thursday, Friday and Sunday, nicely light on 12m. I talked with a local kiteboarder from Kelso and he said Thursday ikitesurf sensor was gusting around 10 so he didn’t go out. I was there and I was almost overpowered on my 12m.

YMMV

Blue, looks like I picked up the day you missed.. I rode at Jones beach for the first time Saturday, plenty for a 7m. It was .07 from astoria to kelso.

Here is what I read before I drove out there:
http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=217&siteID=294&Isection=Local+Info

Does NOAA have a pressure forecast for airports, that might be useful?

Hey, I'm trying to learn how to wind forcast. I've been to the forcast sites, but not sure if i'm missing something - I really can only make sense of wind speed and direction Embarassed Any advice? or maybe a site that explains how to tie all the info together? For instance, the pressure data and it's effect on wind, when to use it and why?

Just bring some beer to Sauvies and find Trevor he is good at explaining all the forcasting stuff... Laughing
