Damn, that's crazy... I mean, I know nothing about climbing in general, but I don't know that I'd be going up a frozen water mass, to any height when the ambient air is above freezing. haha! I think it just may be the thought of climibing Multnomah Falls, getting to about the half way point, then falling 300ft because the ice wasn't so stable... Wink I haven't been out to the Gorge since I got back into town, but if I do so within the next couple days, I'll be sure to update...

P.S. - Hi Tucker! Let's go snowkiting somewhere...

come on someone has surely seen some of these things?? Multnomah is a bit much for me of the couch this season but there are lots of other ice that will form up on both sides of the river. I would really like some beta before trekkin' up there and soloin' ice route. Thanks and please if at all possibe let me know. I have been here for 10 years and the area has only been climable 1 time and I was climbing in canada when it occured.

the ice is great, we climbed up there the other day. It was some of the most plastic ice I have ever lead. The wind was blowing 50 on the gusts and there was many many route in prime shape. Rooster had a inch of ice on everything and the wind was a wicked combo. I am sure glad to have gotten this once in 10 year phenom.
