Hey,
I am going to madagascar at the same time (4th july), and will go kiting to Anakao...maybe we belong to the same trip?
I am coming from Mauritius, and I hope the wind would be better in mada...
does anyone has an idea about the wind and the waves in anakao?
cheers

travel is cool, remeber to tip well, as this does more for diplomacy than any state department decree.
try to stay in places that are locally owned; otherwise, your $$ just go back to the usa via some corporate account.
travel with cipro as well for prophylaxis. cipro, unless you are allergic to it, is good insurance against traveller's diarrhea and is safe and cheap. ask your provider if you can have some "just in case." you can often buy it over the counter in the "third-world", but there are a host of contraindications that are significant if you have some rare QT-prolongation, renal problems, etc. if you need advise, PM me.
i also bring antinausea suppositories (ask the doc for prochlorperazine) that can take you from sick to your stomach, riding the spew-train to a to a good night's sleep in about an hour. good stuff.
also, you can check out the Center for Disease Control and Prevention on-line advise link for any travel advisories in the area you are going to. malaria is a big deal in africa and can have life-long implications. do take this very seriously.
there is a fine line between being overly cautious and courting disaster.
just my 2 cents. . . |

Having spent almost a month traveling around Africa, I fully recommend getting all the appropriate shots before you go. When you pull up Africa and the potential diseases, the map turns RED.
Ps look around as the shots can be quite a bit cheaper from one travel clinic to the next.
Have fun and post pics when u can. _________________ Cleverly disguised as an adult...
