Out at the spit today. Crashed and burned on a jump, got separated from my board, wind lulled, couldn't get my kite up right away, a gust came, got my kite up, but my kite dragged me down wind a bit, lost track of my board and then spent about 25 minutes slogging through the water trying to find it Rolling Eyes I gave up and went in. Figured I could buy Jake's misfit so I wouldn't miss any time on the water.

Was totally bummed cus I was having a great day, juiced on my nine, and I wasn't ready to leave. I packed everything up and then all of a sudden a guy named Jonathan came cruising in on a yellow helix or cult (can't tell the difference yet) and had my board!! Totally stoked!! If Jonathan is reading this - thanks man!! Saved me a grip of cash - and I was able to kite for another hour or so before I went home.

So I made the decision to get a Go Joe Rolling Eyes I know they look rediculous, but I don't feel like shelling out more cash for a new board. So I'll be sporting the gay looking orange floaty on my board - and to match I also decided to get some orange inflatable water wings for myself (Hey, if I'm going to look rediculous might as well go all the way).

So I can get a discount if I buy 10 at a time - so now all I need is nine other dudes to go in with me - hahaha!! Fat chance of that Exclamation

That same day, Terremoto helped my sorry ass stuck in 'quicksand' at the tip of the sandbar.
Made the mistake of crossing from the event site to the sw corner of the sandbar. The current has made a steep underwater grade along with depositing super soft sand. ...I was wearing my good flipflops and was stuck in the sand thinkin' what a gaper I be. (about to lose my good flips to the sandy depths) when 'da man offered to grab my kite bag and board. Much appreciated.

Awright...this a feel good post; does nwkite sanction group hugs? Laughing

No worries on the Go Joe Terremoto, Don't listen to the haters! It's way better to be able to progress your kiting than it is to look cool.

BTW, I had those demos yesterday but didn't see ya anywhere!

go with the joe, man.

one of the best things about the northwest is our "i could givashit," applied to what others choose to do/think/say/ride.

rock on T. dont let the joe-haters inside ya head.

I was at the western tip of the sand bar - the one that looks like a landing strip. I was looking for you - would have liked to check out that recoil - maybe I could have lost that one instead Laughing just kidding man. Next time I'll have to check it out.

I here you on the funny looks on the Go Joe, but body dragging or rescuing a board is such a drag. Start the trend man!

I have them in stock at my store, so I am slightly biased.

the situation you've described has happened to me before; where you loose your board, have to relaunch your kite, or for whatever reason, you get yarded downwind away from your board. when this does happen, i tend to just swim back to my board before relaunching my kite, or in some cases, just unhook the kite and let go of the bar. the kite flags on the 5th line and i swim back to my board then relaunch my kite. much faster than having to body drag for 5 - 10 minutes or more to get to get back to your board, IMO. when you can swim back to your board in 2-3 minutes. also much less gay than the gojo Laughing j/k
