the problem I have now is that the bar travels waaaay up the safety line when I release it, and from what I understand the new rev an t3 bars dont allow that to happen. I have only tried getting back to my bar a few times after releasing the emergency safety, hasn't really worked any of the times Sad

The thing that prevents that on the REVs/T3s is the thicker, 800lbs center lines in combination with it getting run through the upper guide ring (that adds a little more friction).

If you really want to see how your bridles will work in its current configuration, put a Slingy yellow line stopper ball on your safety line, and dump the kite. Just be sure to put it up far enough to fully depower the kite! I've got a ball that you could borrow to test. Used to always take them off my Fuels!

I heard that the T2 worked well with the REV type safety, but I've only done minimal testing myself. The T2 definitely depowers on the single front line, but I'm not sure how reliable the re-launch will be. I've dumped it to the safety a couple of times, and it re-launched each time. Will it always do that as reliably as the REV? I can't tell you.

I've tried the REV bar on a different brand SLE and the results were mixed on the safety. While the kite safely depowered, it also tended to tangle in the bridle when the line was fed back, preventing re-launch. Two things seemed to cause this. First, the bridle is not as compact as the REV bridle. Second, more of the line fed through the bar than it does with the REV. I think if you put one of those yellow stopper balls on the line it might work better. I'm not sure, because I haven't played with it yet. I think a stopper ball would be a good idea with the T2 as well.

The nice thing about the REV safety going through the bar, as opposed to under it, is that the bar tends not to spin around the safety line once deployed. Definitely the way to go... I looked into retrofitting my T2s with Slingshot parts and it's not do-able right now. I was informed that there are a couple of critical parts that Slingshot won't sell right now. You can't blame them for that, that safety is a big selling feature for the new kites. It would be great if SS would sell a retrofit kit for the T2s though...
