Well, as you've probably already seen we have a CGKA Slider Coordinator. That's about all I can say right now but we have a number of things in the works including a slider competition. We'll be making some announcements over the next month or two.
Before anyone gets their panties in a bunge, know that we've been working closely with the CGKA and the port to make this happen in a manner that works for everyone.
Here is what our first one will look like. It's named Joby's Box. Environmentally friendly, adjustable height, incredibly slider-beginner friendly, and built to last.

| 18 inches wide, 18 inches tall. The up ramp is detachable as well. It's designed to allow people who have never tried a slider to be successful. We're also going to be holding intro clinics for people that are interested in unhooked riding and hitting the slider.

Cool beans Forrest! Thanks!
I'm excited, haven't done sliders on the water yet.
A little snow and skate practice in the mean time can't hurt.
I've had this on my iPod for a while.
Soon enough HR will look like this place!

No worries, it will be fun.
I scoped out that video a while back. Compare that to the stuff from Andre Phillip, the Liquid Force Team, Joby, Ian, Dylan, Cam, and the rest of the Inept crew's riding and you know there is an underground that has been doing this stuff for years. The Gorge riders are ahead of the game. It's comical to see "the world's best" looking like a bunch of beginners.

| Last saturday on my last run at meadows I was headed for the far right of the mountain (toward annex) and I hit one of the "kiddie" rails. not even 1/3 of the way and my skiis grabbed the rail- SLA<M! CrUshD at the kiddie rail.

Shit Kramer that sounds horrid, if you just go at a rail not knowing how to do it this is going to happen. I've earned my right to hit rails through pain and suffering. With a little help though, no one has to experience that.
BTW, Don't fear monger my project!!!

nice job forrest! i hope all the hard work you guys are putting in really pays off.
I think hitting sliders with a kite is way easier than just skate/or snow. For one the kite can give you an added sense of balance. and it seems you dont need to commit with so much speed??
i thought i'd post up a Utube vid of the SO-OR local action:

Thanks dude, at some point in the near future we're going to give everyone a chance to pitch in on the effort so we can all thank ourselves for bonding together to make this happen. We're just getting the ball rolling, and we're sure it's going to snowball into one of the best water terrain parks anyone has ever seen.
You are right, you can hit the slider traveling really slow on a big finless board, with the kite unhooked and almost above your head. This means if you can do a bit of a pull-up and float downwind, you won't get hurt. Through practice the goal is to keep the kite low and develop style.
Nice vids, was that a shark in the water?
