I would be curious to here what you find out as well. I plan to do some scouting this year on my sled up at Adams and maybe hood for some snowkiting areas.

I ride snowmobile's there alot so when the time comes give me a PM.

Sorry to mislead you.....

They wont let ANYONE in. Its still too close to a active volcano. Rumours are that they will relax the "danger zone" and start letting the public in. Once they do that I will be happy to show you the winter playground I have in mind.

Mark and KT,
If you contact Aaron Sales at Slingshot or PM him on this forum he can fill you in about St. Helens. I know he snowkites a lot and also uses a snowmobile to get access.
What do you guys think about taking a raod trip to either Idaho, Utah or somewhere else sometime this winter? Lets rally some folks up and do it.
The more riders we can come up with the more we have to share gas and lodging expenses with. Very Happy

Aaron is a great ambassodor for snowkiting. I think he would be happy to show a few of us where to go. There are not too many of us with big snow machines anyways, so the thought of it getting crowed up there is a stretch.

I would be interested in a St. Helens snowkiting trip once the snow starts flying also. I also hear it is a good place to do some shuttle runs if the wind fails.

Keep your fingers crossed that they let us in and that there will be snow! looks like snow level will fall later this week to 5000'. Thats a good start! Needs to get to 3000 for access to the mountain.

Looks like it is going to be open. Does anyone know which sno park people use to access the goods?

We are having a freeride event on December 9-11 at Georgetown Lake Montana. Stay at the lodge, walk across the road and kite. Reps from Slingshot and Ozone will be there to show off their new goodies! Check out http://www.georgetownlakelodge.com for directions or drop me a line at montanakitesports@yahoo.com for info. It is snowing like crazy up there right now, and we hope to be riding some back country this weekend. I will post info on early sites at the Montanakitesports.com forum. Come out and play!
