| Hey, I always hear wide stance is better, but can somebody tell me what the benefits are of wide stance verses narrower. And does there become a point where it's too wide?

| I found with really wide stances it was hard to carve good turns. My stance right now is still pretty wide though.

| Measure your shoulders and you want your stance to be a few inches wider. Makes landing jumps easier. It makes turning harder, but who cares about turning unless you're riding waves.

| So, shoulder width ~= between straps not center of foot, right? I'm getting a new board soon (hopefully) and will need to set it up.

Looks waaaaaaay better too. Steeze! I wish the Lunacy went a bit wider. On the snow my Tadashi is maxed out at 25.5".

Wide stance, tight pants!

Yes...just about when your cajones need their own sets of pads and straps on the board. Then you're too wide.

| Wow - are you sure those aren't stirrups on that snowboard? Adam, if you lay down in the snow it's going to look like you're giving birth!

Center of foot. Say your shoulders are 20inches across. Put 22 inches between the center of the straps/boots.

| You have to play with it. You'll find that any kind of spining gets harder as your stance gets wider. This includes backrolls. Take a screwdriver to the beach and mess with it.

| Forest, I prefer a nice martini at the beach.; but I guess a screwdriver would work.

| Genek and I invented a drink. We call it the 4G, pronounced "forgy". We will make them for everyone next time we have a party.

wide stance for da steez yo. Keeps my pants up 2 ya heard. The breezies like it n shit2.
haha
for real tho, it will give you good style, and you will be able to slap down the landings better,. Stance width is measured from center of binding to center of binding. Something around 24 inches is good.

| wider is better.....you cant even manuver your boo=ard with a narrow stance anyways.. and small fins is beter for freestyle tricks... landing may be a little harder, but in pics you never see the landing right!!! haha yeah wide or die! pluse you want to look cool isnt that what its all about, so defs have to have the board shorts on over the wetsuite (you dont want to look like a windsurfer) and make sure you wear a teeshirt too-a big baggy one... so those are the style tips from a youngster...
