The Rock is at 25 mph out of the east. Is anyone going to take advantage of it? I am stuck at my desk. Sad

If I would have left Corvallis a little earlier today, for sure. Kept on waiting for the coast to see if it would come up though. Oh well, if it still looks good when I get back into town, might come out and watch...

That's amazing, but you really don't even need a kite, just a squirrel suit!

several kites out at RR. Looked to be pretty small, one of the windsurfers said someone out on a 5m earlier. I windsurfed, will try the 7m kite next time.

D-Dawg Report 10/21/05:

Got to RR around 1:30, just in time to see Takashima self launch (he was the 5m the windsurfer was refering to). Jeff held it together and was well balanced through most of the gusts & caught some nice airs. Thumb's Up

Sasquatch, Jimbo & I watched for a while as we only had 8m’s and larger. Sas and I went out around 2:30 on an 8 & 9m respectively. The wind had mellowed in speed, but the gusts were peaking near forty as I watched the water smoke off the swells. Mr. Green

It was all fun until the 98mph nuke blast came through and we all ended up in Troutdale with a long hitchhike back. The crazy thing is the RR sensor also registered 98mph at 3pm............ Rolling Eyes ~D-Dawg out Alien

This is a NWS sensor located near Corbett. Feedback from sailors / kiters indicates that it generally reads 10-12mph SLOWER than actual speeds on the water.

You'd been OK when we went out. The wind came down when/after Tak came in. why are you typing & not driving to RR? T & D OUT....
