I agree, I see no need for Launch Site improvement. I do believe the question was on imporving Stevenson.
If you want to improve Stevenson, bring back the Wild Winds!!! _________________ Helping companys to innovate bricks-and-clicks supply-chains and orchestrate real-time content to deliver customized channels to scale strategic e-services and facilitate global e-markets which will incubate 24/7 niches and seize dot-com channels. |

ENOUGH WITH THE SAND ALREADY!! |
You know what we really need at Stevenson is a lot of sand!!
Seriously - one of the reasons why Stevenson is not as crowded as some of the other spots is the launch site. Its not a beginner friendly place. If you add in some sand - then maybe it will be a lot friendlier thus drawing in more newbees - which, by the way, would take some pressure off the other sites - sort of spread it out a bit. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing - I don't know. Just something to think about. |

I think people are over reacting a bit. No matter what improvements happen, Stevenson will never be as popular or as crowded as the sand bar.
Seriously, what other place besides the SB has soo many kooks that they are actually in the way? (ok, maybe Sauvie, but we embrace kooks there because they are entertaining) Stevenson just doesn't have the exposure or traffic that hood river has. Its the schools and lots of shallow water that bring the kooks, not a decent launching site. Noobs only stick out at Stevenson because the launch is soo damned crowded.
Besides, I would happily trade a bumbling, yet genuinely interested and friendly beginner for the cantankerous, attitude laden ripper who feels entitled because he was there first. |

| Not improving the launch isn't going to keep people away... New people will join this sport and it will continue to grow. These people will come to Stevenson whether the launch is good or bad. Improve it while you have the chance and someone willing to put in the effort. |

I agree with Forrest.
New people will come to Stevenson regardless of whether or not it is further developed.
For example, I know that there are more long time Bob's Beach windsurfers that are going to be turning to kiting this next summer, most likely at Stevenson.
Personally, if I have to deal with pkh's conehead, I'd prefer to do it in safer, easier location.
It's better for both parties that way.
Also, being kind of a newbie myself, I don't think it's fair to label newbies as kooks.
I've found that kookery can come more from egos and complacency than merely inexperience.
Whatever happens, kiteboarding is dangerous, especially at Stevenson. |

| i think you should dump a tone of sand and make a sandbar, and get rid of all the rocks so its not sketchy to launch, and add a daycare there so family friendly. that would be sweet so then all the protland peeps would go there instead of the hood. just dump all the rocks from there on the spit so it makes it more dangerous and people get scared and dont come here. |
