I think I was on that Monday flight that you were fnally able to get booked. I was talking to another kiter about medevac insurance that you can purchase--either one time or on a yearly basis.
I travel down to San Carlos pretty often and I have the emergency medevac ins. A one time policy is about $50. One option is to be evacuated to the nearest appropriate hospital and covers 100% of evac costs, but the more preferable one for me is the one that evacs you to the hosp of your choice (yes, a US hosp) but it maxes out coverage to $1,000. There aren't any limitations on preexisting conditions.....never had to use it, but definitely feel better having it.
Good luck with a speedy recovery! |
