Tucker and I just checked out Hospital Hill tonight. Plenty of snow dumping up there. Would think it'd be decent tomorrow if there was wind.

We were going to try Hood tonight, though the wind isn't where it's forecasted to be yet.

St. Helens looks to be the shit, but you need a sled...

Adam - how steep is the terrain over on hospital hill?

i was thinking heading out to the dalles mountain road area after the current storm system passes. maybe saturday cause it will be freaking crowded at meadows? I found as close as i could to TDMR lat / long cords which are LAT: 45.6956290542 LONG: -121.087188721 on NWS but the forecast for saturday is not calling for much wind:

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 30. West southwest wind around 10 mph.

10mph winds might work with my 20.5 machine. Rolling Eyes

here is the link to the NWS page if anybody wants it

here is the previous thread from last year about it.

did anybody ever make it out to trillium lake and see if it is winter kiteable?

some other stuff i found searching for info on the dalles mountain ranch. This looks like it might work, does anybody know where ghost ridge is? i guess i could probably go search for it but i need to get back to work.

It's really, really steep. Phil told us last night that the eastern slope has a football sized field that's a little more mellow (still could get going faster than you'd want on a snowboard), but after that it drops. Ideally, I'd like to try it out on a S to SW wind first. At least then you're not dealing with getting pulled off the face!

P.S. - I was at Trillium a couple months back on a windy day. Don't have a clue what the direction was, but it was super up and down, lulling to almost nothing from good 11m (luckily we were in a raft).

P.P.S. - Just talked to Tucker and he said that the "mountains" on 14 (across from Rooster) are covered in what is now deep slush. Guess it was snowing good fairly close in! Just haven't found any good fields on the northern side...

Even the western hill looks pretty steep from below!

THat slope is a great run for 2 planks or one! Probably not an ideal slope in particular for Snowkiting tho worth a try for some! Check out this day a few years ago when the GORGE shut down!

Nice pic NERDSKI... didn't see that much snow on HH the last couple years. Looks like a ton of fun if we get a couple of feet up there.

I am up for some snowkite exploration this weekend, especially Saturday. Sunday I think I'm headed to Meadows.
