What time you heading up? I was thinking about it too, but it sounds like it'll be snowing throughout the day and the wind is supposed to top out at ~15 according to NOAA.

Today's was DEAD. Crying or Very sad

I get out of school at 12:20. So i was thinking about heading up after that if the weather was good. Visibility wise. 15 is good wind for me. I only have a 12m frenzy and most of the time thats the perfect amount of wind for me. This will be my first snowkite adventure so i hope it will be a good one. I mainly landboard down in seaside, so now im wanting to get into snowkiting so i hope the weather and wind will be good tomorrow.

Wind average is 5N, with the highest gust to 15 and a lull to ZERO at 8:00AM. Kind of sketch right there, though the snow looks cool!

Mike, there'd really only be enough room in the parking lot for 1, maybe 2 kites. Even then, you'd still have to be really careful. I personally have never played in there and would only consider using my B2 or 3. Just wouldn't want to risk fucking my kite up on a light pole (aside from the shit that it would cause).

If there's enough snow, I normally hike up along the east end of Mile where there's a break in the tree line. On a Westish wind, it's worked somewhat in the past. Gives you a little run up and down the mountain.

EDIT: Pics added...
EDIT x2: As of 11:30, it looks like it's blowing 1NNW. Rolling Eyes

Maybe tomorrow night or Wednesday? I've gotta head down to Corvallis late Wednesday, so I'd rather try for tomorrow night. Meadows parking lot looks perfect, but I've only seen 2 times when the direction was right and I didn't have my kites then.

This Afternoon: Periods of snow showers. Temperature falling to around 23 by 5pm. West southwest wind between 9 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Tonight: Periods of snow showers, mainly before 10pm. Low around 22. North northwest wind between 3 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of snow showers before 10am. Partly cloudy, with a high near 30. East wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Breezy, with a calm wind becoming east between 21 and 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Breezy, with a east wind around 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 23.

I'd be down to do some hiking tomorrow at T-line. I'm probably going to go hike up either way, I'm freaking out and need to ride.

I'll probably head up tomorrow, but I'm not going up until night when the wind is supposed to come up.

Timberline might not have enough cover for snow kiting just yet. Lots of boulders... Anyone down for some hiking for some turns at Meadows?
