Anyone up for some Monday morning riding? (Assuming it's not completely pouring...)

OK, That's 2 so far! The wind is looking to be SE, so if Rooster is nuked, Cottonwood should be good... Strong rain is supposed to start by noon, so maybe a dawn patrol? Sunrise is at 7:05

Hey Nak - look for me out there too. If it looks good, I'll be around RR in the AM. - C

I'm not going to try any crazy early shit... Just talked to Tucker and he sounds like he's in, but we probably won't leave until 8:00, or slightly after (wind permitting). Wink

Hmmm. I live in Gresham, and it feels like a Tornado is coming through here right now. Looking out my window, the neighbor's 50ft trees are swaying like crazy! I think we may be slightly beyond 5m. Laughing

Edit: Just checked iKite... weird.

Yeah, I'm over in Camas and thee are some pretty wild gusts coming through... Although, looking at the wind sensors, it dosen't look so bad on the river. Rooster is showing stron SW winds, while Stevenson is showing East. What do you think?

Damn, I don't know. Gotta stop by Stevenson today, so regardless, I'm down. Cool

How do you think SW would work at Cottonwood? That's what we were going to try that last psycho, Portland day a few weeks back. It was just too fluky though.

A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON.

SOUTH WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY THIS AFTERNOON AHEAD OF A STRONG PACIFIC COLD FRONT.

I don't know, scary shit to me... Shocked Latest reading at Stevenson is pretty light. WTF?

Cottonwood might be OK, Any north is bad there but SW might be good? I can run down there and check it out.

Ugly morning here in PDX - I think I'll wait some and see what happens. By the way - was out at RR on Sat. & water level is up, but it still pretty dry all the way out to the launch.

Looks like the most stable wind is at Stevenson, but 11 isn't going to cut it. Crying or Very sad

Onsite report: Cottonwood/Camas is dead. 5 mph tops...

Looks like Sauvies might be good, but I'm guessing with all of the rain there's a CSO...

Okay, I think we're screwed. Let's just go snowkite in T-line's parking lot.

I checked the aviation report for PDX; they've had gusts up to 46 mph... The sensor readings on Ikite and NWwind.net never showed the gusts because PDX did not report the gusts in the hourly wind reading since the gusts were isolated. The gusts were mentioned in the verbiage though. Something to think about... I was considering going to Frenchman's bar because the readings weren't that bad. The wind was light enough I might have been out on a 14m and then got hit with a 46mph gust. Shocked

I wonder what the real wind is at Rooster? Stevenson is showing squirrely East winds, but their barometer reads 29.66 inches. The John Day Bridge reads 29.74 inches which accounts for the East winds. Corbett though is 29.71 inches. I'm guessing from this that Rooster is really light out of the West, but I really don't know. Anyone drive by Rooster with an on site report?
