Yes you can surf in wind BUT the direction will have a huge affect on the quality of the waves. The swell on the Oregon coast is huge right now regardless of wind direction surfing is probably not an option 'til it subsides a bit.

but it looks like crap in HR right now Confused

all i see out my window is clouds, and there is no wind. if you're new, here is a good webcam for weather at the sandbar
