I remember seeing a bow like kite from a company named NEXT Kites a number of years ago. I believe they had a sister company in Europe, but I can't recall the name. They claimed the same near total depower and the better hang time, but they seem to have faded away. Anyone remember the NEXT brand of kites?

There's a thread on KF that had pictures of all the original flat kite designs (called "Manta") from 2000-2002 or so. I'll try to dig it up later...

I guess the early designs were very safe but didn't jump well.
