I thought I would post something after having a close call this weekend and talking to some of my friends as well. It is common sense, but please make sure you have plenty of room all around you before boosting.

Yesterday someone at Rufus on a yellow and light blue fuel was upwind of me and heading in my direction. He decided that would be a good time to boost, and he basically landed right in front of me. If he had not stuck his landing, or I was unable to slow down and turn around we would have hit each other.

Not only should you have enough room to land safely, but you should think, if I biff this landing and my kite happens to tommohawk downwind will I still have enough space? This weekend was super strong at Rufus, and when boosting big you can easily travel 100+ ft. downwind.

Same dude did it to me twice. No matter how hard I tried to avoid that guy he was right there and jumping right in to me. The one time he was way up wind of me and then he jumps and lands within a couple feet of me. I sent my kite as fast as I could the other direction to avoid that jack a*s.

looking around before jibing is also a good idea, except in cabarete.

i also fly yellow and blue fuels but i was not out there this weekend. i am definately concerned that someone would bring such shame to all the other yellow and blue fuelers out there. Crying or Very sad

it seems that i must now move to a new color combo for my kites to honor those who have been disrespected at this said secret local.

maybe the age of the Rev must soon arrive for myself.

Hi Kodiak and Bettyboarder,im the guy who jumped into both of you. A friend called me about this thread. I'm glad he did,I wanted to apologize and say both incidents were my fault. Like both of you didn't have first-hand knowledge of that. I should have tried to find you and apologize, but didn't think I could recognize you. Again, sorry, and I hope to see you kiting and offer up some beer. Pat

nice work on the follow up. To bad we now have your IP address and we will commence to hunt you down and inflict a fate much worse than being jumped in front of

making you ride with no board shorts Twisted Evil

this is just a great thread through and thru.

Thumb's Up Thumb's Up Thumb's Up

informative, relevant to the purpose of the site and people are getting to express their concerns in a positive way with no one is getting mad at each other; there is no name calling, a great exchange of information; nobody bitching or complaining or whining with a negative attitude. The individual even got informed of his mishaps and apologized for it. All i can say is wow, i wish all threads ended more similiar to this. Mr. Green
