I just got back from my first solo in a helicopter this afternoon. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, but it was definitely a trip Thumb's Up

Congrats Jim!

Does that mean NW Kite now has our own private helicopter service? Wink

Nice job Jim! I saw a R22 flying around South of Hillsboro this evening. Perhaps I saw you up there.

Now its time to dream!

Way to go man!

So...how much would it cost to organize an nwkite heliboarding trip??? We could pay for the helicopter rental and you'd get free flight time and all the beer you can drink Cool (preferably not while you're flying though).

Thanks for all the kind words. I was having my first stage check on Wed. while everyone was out having a blast at Sauvies, but after passing that it was too windy to go up. Last night was perfect though, nice calm skies and a beautiful sunset.

I probably have about 15-20 more hours before I get my private and can take people up. After that I start work on the commercial.

So once I have my private if anyone wants to go up and split the costs, let me know Smile Just be warned, its a cozy little ship Smile Oh, and if you are over 200 lbs, your weight combined with my fat ass we wouldn't be able to go in the R-22 Neutral

So how long until you can go into the backcountry? I need to film a big mountain part this winter! Sounds like you'll need a bigger bird than an R-22, might I suggest a Bell 202?
