Meh. You get some cool stuff but if you bought all the stuff seperately it would add up to the same amount. I bought a 360 from a guy off CL- brand new never opened. He got some combination deal by buying a new hd tv and a 360. --but then his "wife" bought him a 360 as a gift. It sounded a little weird- why not just take back the wifes 360 for a refund?>
what he did was save a combined $250 on the combo, sold the 360 at a loss of $50 so he saved $200 on a new hdtv. Pretty damn smart- and I saved $50 on my 360. |

so I managed to get a copy without pre-ordering AND I got a free 4' tall master chief thingie to put on my wall (which should last about 5 minutes until the wife see it).
So, anyone up for shooting their way through the campaign? You can now play mutliplayer campaign via xbox live. |

let me get this straight, you just got the legendary version of halo 3 in your possession and your not going to play it until you finish halo 2. DUDE! how could you do that? Anyways, let me know what your gamertag is. Maybe mixwell will be online tonight as well. |

Headed over to play Halo 3 with my bud right now... I really should go kiting but sometimes you gotta be a friend to your non-kiting buds you know.
Hey BTW, anyone finish Halo 2 and still not know WTF was going on in the storyline?

| So here is a dumb question from a non-video game type person. So what do I got to do to cash in on some of the Halo 3 action? First - I need an Xbox 360 and then I need the game - but what else do I need to do if I want to play other people? Do I need a highspeed internet access? or what? |

you also need high speed internet access and xbox live gold membership which is like 50 or 120 bux a year, not sure which one. This is the only reason i dont play online, because i refuse to give M$ the money.
anyway, how was it guys? i got my copy yesturday but had too much other shtuff to do, so i didn't get to play it...... |

xbl is 50$ per year.
halo3 online is fun.. i still suck at it where i can really compete on a PC FPS.. console controller just does not have the accuracy that a mouse does for freelook.
bioshock hands down is a much funner single player game. halo has some amazing graphics and all that .. but for pure fun single player bioshock is great and looks really really good on hdtv.
the online mulitplayer lobbies and all that for halo are great.. i really like this aspect.
the theater option is AMAZINGLY cool.. one of the most inovated things ive ever seen in a game .. really well done ..
i am picking up that mod device to use mouse/keyboard on my xbox360.. hope that ups the fun for me.
some can play the hell out of halo online with a controller ..
not me.

This is my first time playing high def resolution games on an hd TV but all I have to say is that i was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!
The graphics are seriously unreal. The textures, the shading, how the hell do they code all that shit. Throw in the fact that the mulitplayer interface seems way improved and is much easier to navigate, man I was like a kid in a candy store.
The sound is amazing as well. It must be output in dolby 5.1 b/c people were sniping at me and I could here the bullets whiz from my TV and then in the back of the room. I know, I'm geeking out a little, but I'm telling ya, pretty impressive stuff.
Hey Terra, the 360 also does more than games, with a windows media center PC, I can now control my computer from the living room and stream my mp3's, utube vides, and photo slide shows etc directly to my TV without having a noisy PC in the living room.
Anywho... let the sleepless nights begin!! |

on opening night, i played a little multiplayer on it and discovered i suck, even in the "social" gamerooms. but that's ok. i just tell myself i have a bigger dick than they do and have another beer. I also cheated and watched the opening scene for the campaign. halo 2 is taking longer than i thought to finish.

ahhh... ummm...
the xbox360 is the noisiest device on gods green earth. seriously its 4 times louder than my pc. I am buying a new hutch with custom fans to put the little f**ker in so i can run the thing in silence. not noticable when playing games.. but when I pop in an hd-dvd and the sound is low in a scene it sounds like a f16 jet is flying thru my living room.
i am selling my hd-dvd xbox add on drive and my oppo upconverter dvd player and getting a standalone hddvd player cuz i cant stand the noise.

but you are spot on about the graphics.. HOLY CRAP its a pretty looking game.

Anyone know how to increase the font size on Halo 3 with respect to the console button instructions that appear on the upper right of the screen as you play--"RB," "Y' and so forth? My 44 year old eyes.....
Rather not sit closer if possible.
Been searching on-line for instructions, but found nothing so far.
