Rooster Sunday was fun... lots of flat water.

Did some skim riding in my girlfriend's old Nitrous harness (pink.) Garret checked me out and said the ribs not broken, it felt pretty good today, just a little pain sometimes. I think I am going to stick with seat harness for a few days.

Put some pads on the skim and its way nicer than wax, nailed pretty much every shuv-it transition.

Damn, I really really wanted to check out RR yesterday but peer pressure won out and I floated the river instead. Is the Corbett wind sensor any good indicator of RR conditions? I'm thinking about heading out there after work today maybe.

Or, continue East as far as you can hike for the flat water. (30 minute hike. It's also windier up there.) Bear to the river side of the hill... Once you're done riding up there, put your gear in your kite backpack and ride downwind back to Kite beach. Wear hard soled sandals while hiking, there are some nasty cut brush stumps hiding in small weeds on the path.

i was at rooster on sunday and was amazed that more kites were not present. i was out on the water about 9:30 and finished about 1. when i was packing up, i notice way up river, as if by dalton point, a hell of a lot of kites. is that what people are kiting now? is it more/less windy? flat water?

not actually sure if i am up for 1/2 hour hike but, curious none the less.

We were at Dalton around 1:00 and had a group of like 10+ people on our little downwinder. When we first arrived the wind was pretty much nothing (even though it was 7m at Rooster), but by the time everyone was rigged, I was solidly powered on a 9, Tucker and all the girls were on 7s. So yea, I don' think the wind's any better necessarily, but the water may be a bit less choppy since it's not as shallow.
