I have a 07 9m. I have managed to break several leading edge battens...is this normal/ typical or operator error? Have you guys found these are a warrenty item? _________________ Thanks for your reply |

Haven't broken any yet, can you change them out yourself? I haven't checked how to do it. If you can swap them out yourself you could probably pick up a few at new winds, I'd imagine. _________________ Let's go kite. |

I have broken a few. Your kite should have come with 5 extras in the pump bag and they are really easy to replace--15 seconds per batten. I think I have some extras you can have if you need them, as I no longer have Best kites.

I have broken several. It can happen from a hard crash, an inversion, or just from folding the kite when you put it away. They come with several extra, and you just pull one out and pop the other back in. If you don't have any new wind will probably.

funny, i was just reading about this on Best's forum. they claim they have extras they'll send you too... they said it mostly happens from folding it up wrong. you might go to their site for the 'correct' procedure.
I think you can also fly it without the battens. |

one more bit of advice... all the sizes have the same battens, so if you have extras left over from another size you can use those. |

I managed to break one as well, and I can tell you that it was from folding it wrong. Chech out Best's website and look at there "how to fold your waroo" video. You need to make sure that you roll it by the leading edge not the trailing. This might seem difficult as the trailing edge forms a straight line, but in doing so you will change the spacing on your front battens; causing them to break when you fold the kite. |
