Shit! Well heal fast!

Just reread your comment above, how's Henry doing? That doesn't sound good. Jeff got fucked up the other day at Stevenson too. Kiteloop, kicked the board off (in front of him), snapped the board ('07 Misfit), when his shin went into it. There's still skin/hair in the crack. I guess he can sorta ride though...

Yes, it was really gusty and crappy kiting. But my problem was the way I fell off my board and out of the straps, I flicked the board back at myself. Then, when I crashed I got nailed dead center with the lunacy rail. I will need to tighten the straps and go with smaller fins. The grab of the fins is what made me put so much pressure on the rail to try and overcome it during a surface pass. Once I got home and cleaned it up, it didn't look as bad. It lined up nice, so I just put some super glue over the top skin to hold it together. The large cut was above my lip 1/2" long and 1/8" wide. Two other cuts on nose and forehead. At least I'm only out for a couple days.

Superglue was developed by the US army for treatment of injuries on the battlefield. It is fine for outside of wounds, but I wouldn't put it in anything deep. We used to use it to seal up cuts on our fingertips when climbing.

Super glue rocks for small wounds that can be cleanly approximated (lined up).

Krazy glue is a bit better.

Best yet is medical grade glues used by docs (vetbond and dermabond) for animals and humans and it is FDA approved.

Kodiak is right in that you do not put it into a wound. You approximate the edges of the wound, squeeze a small volume of glue into the valley between the edges and hold for 6-90 seconds until it seals. It must be dry and the wound must first be cleaned.

If your fingers stick to the glue use a wet cotton applicator between your finger and skin, slowly work the tip it between your the skin and finger until it is freed.

With small facial wounds it has been shown to be as good as cosmetic grade (6-0) sutures.

A remarkable thing about using glue is that it is anti-microbial and tends to reduce the incidence of infection!

Sorry, I didn't preview the previous post better. It should say hold for 60-90 seconds.

Here is a nasty wound my friend got after using a board leash ( I tried talking him out of using it). We were in Mexico and the only suture material I had would have made him look like Frankenstein. Fortunately his girlfriend had Krazy glue!

Before and 5' after applying the glue.

I only endorse Priest's live version of the Green Manalishi...other than-that, leashes are like Bon Jovi; they suck balls.

The only injury I've ever experienced kiting was caused by a leash, back in September of 2000. It required stitches in the head and negated seeing...(okay, I'll admit it, I have a soft spot for Cracker.)

I missed the show and had stitches in my head.
