Wed Aug 29, 07 8:31 am Dalton to Rooster Downwinder today? |
|
|
| Anybody up for a downwinder today? I have to be back by 2, so I'm thinking of an early go... 11:00? If no downwinders, anyone going to Rooster? Strength in numbers when confronting the Viet Schlong.

It looks like the wind is blowing at 11 MPH right now, anyone think it might come up a bit or should I head to Stevensburg?

Usually its a lot stronger than these readings I'm pretty sure....
Has something changed...?
But if you are talking about Stevenson, it is lighter than Rooster when its East.

Windbow looks good for today, even into the later afternoon. Pressures look good too right now (E .08 increasing). Just need to keep PDX HOT!
Unfortunately for me, I'm stuck in Corvallis, studying for a midterm tomorrow...

The readings aren't even close. I left at 1:15 and the wind was probably 25 - 30... Guys on 7s were saying they wished they had 5s. I didn't bring any little kites... Stupid, I know.

Troutdale's reading 13-21 on iKite so it's probably more like 30-40 out there! 7m downwind would be fun!

saw your car NAK but missed you! got there about 1 and talked to all dalton downies... indeed, all said the wind was crazy especially the dalton launch except said wind was steadier at rooster... so i opted to stay right there... wind was gusty 8m for about an hour... and then was great 11m with very steady wind until about 5 when it dropped off.
there is beach everywhere... and the VS were out in FULL FORCE. I don't think I've ever see the parking lot that full on a weekday.
Windbow was accurate today, Rooster provideth da goods. Just had to wait for wind to smoothe out a bit.

Shit - the only Wend. I've worked in years, and it turns into a good RR day - I've been waiting all summer for return of good RR Easties - they can't be beat. . All that butter smooth shallow water for miles - ahhhhhhhh.

Awesome - huge beach - blowdrier wind - scary neckid people.
Nice butter in the shallow spots but sadly put you up close and center to some things you just don't want to see.

LOL
That's some funny shit right there. I remember last summer when those were getting a nice exfoliating rub from the 40mph winds blowing sand across the beach. Those guys are crazy.
