Hey Guys, Shawn and I got a cool group of people and we are at the coast. NO WIND. So we are wondering where every one is going to ride or where there is any wind? We would love to hang out with you all, so any one know where to go?

The forecast looks flat for the Gorge but I find it hard to believe having just come from HR to PDX this morning... it was crystal clear blue skies in the Gorge, but then plenty of clouds/fog once I got to P-Town (they started around Gresham.)
Sauvies actually looks almost as good forecast wise as the Gorge today, if you kids want to check out the Portland scene

Looks pretty shitty everywhere really. Long term forecast for the Gorge..
Ho-hum upper level trough inspired 14-18 W for TUE / WED but promise of change by THUR.
Not a great pattern for Gorge westerlies as upper level troughing spawns multiple listless surface Low's along the OR Coast. But a faint light IS VISIBLE at the end of the tunnel by THUR as extended computer solutions begin to bring some wayward high pressure back into the mix and turn things around for westerlies.
Tuesday:
Inland ridge continues to build as the offshore trough deepens, net effect seems to be a cancellation as the see-saw across the Cascades tips to neutral. Gorge gradients go westerly in the late PM but very weak. Central Gorge sites scramble towards 16-20 range in the PM. Eastern Gorge sites look light. Jones Beach west 12-16 late in the day. Sauvies NW 6-10. Coastal sites look pretty weak but local sea breezes may get NW wind into the 10-14 range. West swell 3 feet.
Wednesday:
Extended models continue to support the formation of a huge upper level trough creating a Cut-Off system w/ backup surface support right off the OR / WA border.
Thursday:
This looks to be THE day that change finally begins again for the Gorge. My cast (a good friend now for 8 weeks) comes off AND high pressure decides to make a blitzing run on the OR Coast. The resulting squeeze of gradient combined w/ a good solid push of rather cool marine air into the Desert should flare up westerlies. Central and East Gorge capable of solid 20-24 or a little better - current lean towards eastern sites, West Gorge 12-16 w/ clouds. OR Coast sites spin back to the SW along N coast in the 14-18 range but S coast may see 16-20 from the WNW, bit messy. |

jesse,
come up to seattle and the jetty island experience!
leave now and you could get there when it blows. should blow 10-20 knots late this afternoon but very steady. I know not very strong, but we would sure welcome the two of you at the beach!
