Hey Lance, I've windsurfed it a bunch and kited it a couple times from Roosevelt. On a good day the swells there are as big and smooth as the gorge gets. I saw someone launch at Arlington earlier this summer on like a 7 m day, and it was a near death experience. The wind angle was a bit onshore and rotoring over the bank. They tried it kind of rufus style with the kiter swimming out and launcher holding the kit on land. It was so swirly / sketchy that the kiter ended up just ripping the kite right across the window as fast as possible. Gnarly. I was on my way home and I didn't see how it went when he tried to land. It may be less sketchy on a lighter day.

has anyone ever flown their kite into that huge silo crane that overhangs the water when the gusts are at 40+? i've been spooked by that vision. windsurfers would get their cameras out for that.

No, but I boosted over that same silo. Confused Very Happy

Seriously though, Roosevelt is one of THE best places in the gorge to KB IMHO

Boosting is not allowed at A town.
It's a swell riding only spot;
surfboards preferred. Razz Very Happy
