That's the stuff that keeps you going back . It was so windy @ NW 23rd, a 3'' diameter branch fell down in the middle of the outdoor tables @ Tera Thai - hit a dude in the head .

Caps in the Willamette. New wind indicator on my office under the 405 bridge - the aluminum roof on the loading door was slapping like a beaver tail. Mmmmm beaver tail.

I saw those caps under the ross island bridge at 5! It reminded me of Barnes last year! I thought about it and said, nah... no photographers around!

Watching channel 6 news when they said a great way to cool off "kiteboarding in the columbia" they showed a guy jumping for like 3 seconds pretty cool. Looked like a orange kite and guy on a white board.

No problem. Any time Jeff.

I think Trevor almost sacrificed more than some local wind while taking pics. He almost got taken out by the Glide guillotine.

hands down...best night at sauvies. she coughed it up good.
and yes, hats off to those dudes who sat in the water getting swarmed over while snapping. it was like sunset highway at rush hour. i'm surprised there was no carnage.

OK, I'll make this short since the morphine and my other pain medications are wearing out...
It was probably one of the best days ever @ SI.
The wind was a bit gusty at times but really nothing to complain about.
Julian, thanks for letting me try your board. Pretty nice board - really sticky to the water and charges upwind so easy...
Anyways, For those who don't know, I got slammed into the water yesterday - seemed like a Gust from hell... It kinda went from 13 meter conditions to 5 meter conditions within seconds...Well my ribs took the blow...I should have just dug in and held that thing straight up and sit it out...But I was an idiot and decided to take the gust at full throttle...Huge mistake...I love speed, but sometimes the things you like, can hurt you the most.
(for those of you who get seriously hurt while in the water - stay cool and don't panic...Just get yourself out of the water if you can. Hold on to your board as it serves to be a good floatation device, or yell for help.)
When all said and done, I ended up with a broken rib and several bruised ribs...It still hurts like hell and I can feel the seperation of the bones (rib) everytime I bend down or move my upper body....I went to the ER this morning...Just to make sure there was no internal injuries associated with the broken rib...Everthing else looks good...Doctors said I'll be out of order for at least 3-4 weeks...
Aside from that, just wanted to say thanks to Julian for packing up my gear...and everyone else who helped....It's cool to have good friends cause you never know when you need them...
have fun....

That totally sucks Tony - You will heal up fast though. We're going to have to try to make you laugh next time out - that really feels good. I boke a couple a few years back on the water, and you are right about not freaking out. I think survival mode kicks in and you just focus on gettin on dry land. I went to White Salmon ER in my Wetsuit - It hurt too much to take it off, and I thought I punctured a lung. Anyway - heal fast bro - Sauvies isn't the same w/o you. - C
