This video was a bit long and drawn out but I skimmed through it and I guess the takeaway is that the practice of excessive spilling that I think was supposed to help the salmon is actually hurting them? It's wasting water flow and in turn raising energy prices .

The video seems to leave you with the conclusion that it's another government intervention designed to make something better and it's only making it worse.

Yeah, I thought the water flow was (mostly) determined by power demand, so it shows you what I know about it (not much).

Somebody somewhere had a bright idea... just maybe not a data-driven one.
