Sun Nov 09, 25 9:07 pm IMPORTANT HEADS UP! Alaska Airlines luggage policy. |
|
|
A lot of us have gotten used to Alaska Airlines waiving the overweight luggage fee for kiteboarding gear. Due to the abuse of this policy by a few people--I've heard of 90+ pound bags being bragged about--that policy is now rescinded. Kiteboarding bags will now be charged overweight fees if over 50 pounds. Oversize is still allowed up to 115 linear inches. (Length + height + width.)
I wanted to warn folks so you don't get a rude shock at check in... |

Well I guess I have to admit I took advantage, but when they say the weight limit is "waived" I took it to mean no weight limit.
Yeah, my loaded up 9'6" coffin bag probably weighed in pretty hefty.
I wish they could have just said instead of 50lbs, the limit for surfboards is x. |
