Really good post on kiteforum if you can imagine:

Hooked in popping came pretty natural to me, but I never really understood the details. I still don't, but the poster above explains it pretty well.

It was pretty crazy seeing Mauricio Abreu popping off flat water unhooked and sliding the top of the Subaru, I wanna learn to pop like that!

Go buy wake board bindings and a larger board.. ~140

It's easy.

Slezak was popping 15 footers up at Jetty.

Popping.

I have the Mission 144 and boots. It's not that easy, there is a whole bunch of technique involved. I'm getting there though!

Yea, you just have to drill the base plates in some cases. Most kiteboards will just end up breaking under the stress of bindings so you want something designed for that use. LF Mission/Element/Recoil or Cabrinha Custom are some boards that work with bindings.

or you can just ride the dopest board for bindings if you would like, that being the 137 slingshot response.

But yeah you can make any bindings fit on any board...

with a drill.

The one thing I noticed with the LF team and in general with all Pro's is the speed at which they ride.

When jumping via the "whip" or the "trigger", board speeds play a HUGE factor in the out come.

it was my understanding that they are built for two entirely different things and it is difficult to edge and stay upwind on a wakeboard.

They are made for different things, however unless you consider yourself a big time poon it doesent make any difference! Liquid Force wakeboards make great kiteboards! I have two that I ride all the time, but im not a poon im a COUGAR HUNTER, GRRR!
Basically it all comes down to is personal preferance! And if youve never ridden a wakeboard kiting how would you have any frame of referance..?
You Dont! your like a child who wonders into the middle of a movie.

Wakeboards move a lot of water. In kiting you don't want to move a lot of water, you want to move on the water. I have ridden a wakeboard and it was awesome, but it was hard to stay upwind.

Boards that are going to have better pop will be stiffer in the middle with flex at the nose/tail. Just about any board that is made for freestyle will have these attributes. All boards pop unless they are insanely stiff with no rocker, it's not really about the board, more about rider technique.

The new board by Slingshot, the LUNACY, createed with Reuben, is going to kill it. Get in line for yours now!

That is what POP is all about.

More to come.
