I am sure this has been asked a million times but I am a new kiter (actually taking lessons in two weeks in Hood River) and would like to know what would be a "typical" (if there is such a thing) kite size for the Gorge and Seattle. I am a windsurfer who wants to sail when the wind is low (under 20 knots). My guess so far is a 9 m for Hood River and 14/16 m for Seattle. |

This is how it starts, then one year later all your windsurf gear is stuck in the garage collecting dust and you haven't put down your kite since your first lesson. I know first hand
Anyway for a kite with wind under 20 kts I fly a 12/13, and I weigh 200 lbs. |

Tell me about it. I was an addicted windsurfer for 2 decades, sold my Gorge Van this Spring, sold half my gear (big stuff) at Pepi's last Summer. Still hanging onto the 5.0 and smaller gear, but I never take it out of the back shed. Soon the wife will want more room for her garden supplies, then it's gone. When I walk through the Event Site... it just looks so boring. _________________ CGKA Member
