Thank you to all the riders who are storing their gear and respecting the narrow launch and land lane flow at East Point for kiting. In order to maintain safety for all, if you are new to East Point, especially New Wingers using this launch, please do not park your gear in a fashion that can get in the way with kiters launching and landing. Think of it like an Airport runway. (If unsure ask a local and/or view the park map sign).

The boat ramp is an even better access point, and on busy days, please focus your access here, as kiters are limited to East Point launch only, whereas Wingers can use the boat ramp, Bobs beach, the new playground launch (Between Bobs beach and East Point)

There is enough room for everyone to "get theirs"

***Special Thanks to all the regulars at East Point for setting the example and helping new comers to the beach*** Last edited by JimmyH on Fri Aug 04, 23 9:59 am; edited 1 time in total |

Ha! I've always called the Stevenson launch area the USS Stevenson. The launch is more like an aircraft carrier than an airport IMHO. |

Aircraft carrier is for sure a better description than an airport. Not for novice pilots.

I've seen more than a few injuries and mishaps at Stevenson over the years. Always worth a reminder that if you aren't solid in your kite skills, especially launching and landing, you should probably choose a safer launch. This is even more true now at Stevenson with the increased wing traffic.

Twin tipping and associated big kites increases the risk factor as well when the launch is rocky and unforgiving. |
