Kiteloops + spicy landings = hurting ribs
Short of taking time off to heal all the way, any recomendations for getting through summer.
Rib belt?
Super comfy harness (not trying to start some gear flame)? |

Sorry you got smacked. Are you sure the rib isn't broken? Might be a good idea to rule that out... IF it's only bruised or sore then ice and Advil. Maybe a Dakine Nitrous and an impact vest to get back on the water. But if there's any chance that it's broken, really see a doc first. One x-ray would at least put your mind at rest.
Feel better soon! |

Time to step up to strapless, unhooked
with a small kite on a fixed bar.
maybe without a harness.
kiteloops are too mainstream anyway. |

I heard seat harnesses help... the new nitrous shorts aren't too shabby. |

The DaKine Nitrous Harness has had failures in the bar straps, which caused the bar to injure the ribs of a friend. |

Don't you use a seaty ?
The old Fusions used to have weak metal clips and would bend
my newer ones do not bend
With some pretty fucked up discs and a pear shaped body I have to use some thing with very good back support that doesn't ride up .
I used to use a waist wave style harness early on and after some kiteloops munched my ribs pretty bad
went straight to a seaty (next day)and never looked back
point of pull is so much lower it's much more difficult to do dangly stuff
as my large gut outweighs my lard ass(so I fall on my head)
so perhaps you could go with the dingle-danglers (tea baggers,Mary Poppins)
and just throw away your harness
either way no laughing or coughing

Everyone has their own idea of style-- what is cool to you is lame to others & vice versa. |

Try the session harness with the adjustable leg straps. Takes pressure off the waist and puts it on your legs.

percocet.........
If you think you're good enough to go on the water, you can borrow my impact harness if you want, it seems to help. I'm pretty sure i will be out for another week or two. |

I think I'm gonna chill for several days, then just ride the skim for a week or two.
I've been doing plenty of self medicating with Vitamin P & Vicadin. |

Broke 3 windsurfing - waited a week to see the doc.
I guess one of the ribs shifted and nearly punctured something.
If you don't feel better soon, an X-Ray might be a good idea. |
