There is a fire north of Washougal. It's a tanker plane filling up with water to fight the fire. We were kiting just down river of the plane.

Not this one, but two other times (one time buy Dougs, other time by Rufus) hindsight tells me we were impeding fire fighting efforts.

If you see planes like this, or helicopters scooping water, do everyone a favor and get out of the water. Their mission takes precedence.

Snapped a quick pic of the fire as I was driving from PDX to Rooster. It is essentially straight across from Troutdale. Would have been wild to see the plane. I can’t imagine the pilots know much about kiting and would know to look out for kiters, but maybe they would see in time.

Well, that explains the kiter they found in the tree in the burn area.

Kinda like the "Florida Man Fire Diving" thing.... have been wondering what the next sport will be, after wingfoiling:
