Dog Threads man. It was the heart of the debate. Seems like dogs are pretty hot topics at the spit.

I suspect it was spam bots, hackers or spiders - on the 28th I had 10x the traffic on a forum I run.
Of course you can never under estimate the dog factor.

yeah probably bots or a search engine... the old record was like 50 simultaneous people sometime April 2006.

There was a huge boost in traffic for the doggie days though. I guess that's the secret to popularity, lots of anarchy and drama. KiteForum.... sheesh.

But I'll take quality over quanity anyday. Thumb's Up

Some real stats:
around 1600 visits per day
600-900 unique visitors daily
20-30% more popular on weekdays

In Oregon traffic is split at 45% Portland, 36% Hood River. The rest is for smaller towns in the Gorge and Coast.

Lots of traffic worldwide though! Very Happy

Phil, you have probably already thought of this - but you could put up banner ads or links or whatever - capitalize on this traffic.

I know Phil had a poll awhile back about putting ads on the site. I think most people thought he deserved to make a buck on it.

Nah no ads, they just spam stuff up. You could throw a few dollars in here though if you are feeling generous Very Happy

Thanks, my brother gets credit for keeping it real. He's a guide in CO.

Yep, I was unemployed and the wife wanted me to get a real job, so I had to look busy Smile
