Anybody have any insight into the boat now stuck on the sandbar?
Real unfortunate that the water levels dropped right after it got stuck.

We are thinking about getting a big group together on one of these calmer days and trying to get it floating again and then towing it somewhere else.

Maybe somebody knows if the port has a plan for it, or has a good idea where we should tow it if we get it off of the bar.

It is owned by a member of the confederated tribes.
According to the Port of HR, the owners and the Hood River Sherrifs dept have plans to remove it and properly relocate it away from this area.
They were originally waiting for a break in the wind pattern, but now with lower water levels the challenge likely is getting it out onto the water.
This is more of a small barge, and as such will likely take an abnormal amount of effort to get it back out on the water.

Please stay patient and maneuver with caution when near or around this hazard.

Will update if we find anymore info.

A notice for those who want to possibly move the barge/fishwheel on the spit.

I have been reminded by the authorities that it is actually illegal (a federal offense) to move/remove properties (such as this) owned by the Federated Tribes.
It is not obstructing any vessel passage/channel and is not randomly floating in the river, it is somewhat landlocked.
The Sandbar is DSL (Department of State Lands) which means it is outside of the Port of HR's property line/boundary, but they are doing their best to help the Sherrifs dept and the tribes to work together on a solution.

Again, this will have to be a patience and safety requirement for the local kite community. Please recreate accordingly and keep an eye out for others to keep the safety levels as high as we can.
