I was recently on the oregon coast surfing, after a good set I came back to my car to find my 9 meter Crossbow missing. This was my one and only kite. Any ideas or tips would be great. |

Travis, sorry to hear about your kite!! That sucks!
If you post a description of the kite and any identifying marks - then people on this forum will keep an eye out for it on ebay, craigslist, or similar forums. When people try and sell kites that have no idea about kiteboarding - they will stick out like a sore thumb. |

It was an 06 blue and a little worn stolen out side of cannon beach. Any help would be great and I would totaly take care of whoever could help find it. |

OK - well I'm sure people will now be on the look out for a guy who doesn't know kiting that is selling a 2006 9m blue crossbow. |

Hey Travis,
If you don't mind, please answer a couple questions for those of us who would benefit from your bad day with some information. The reason I ask is so we can take appropriate measures in order to prevent another unfortunate event.
Was your car locked?
Was the kite visible from outside?
Was the car in an area with good visible?
Thanks! |

Does anyone think it's worth an investment to get the car side/rear windows tinted way dark to deter theft? I arrive late usually coming home and I'm too lazy to unload. _________________ CGKA Member

It's funny you mention tinting the back windows. I am in the market to do that just so people can't see in my back seat.

My truck was broken into at 15th / Salmon in SE PDX. Explorer, dark tinted windows. Stock cover over cargo, I.E. harness/gear. I do have some 'kite' stickers on the truck, but only people 'in the know' would know what they meant. nwkite/cgka stuff. I guess they could do some internet research Last edited by EdG on Fri Jul 06, 07 7:26 pm; edited 1 time in total |

5% tint on the rears is the way to go!
At least then, they're breaking your windows to see what's back there (and hopefully someone will see/hear that)! |

Yea it was locked, and yes it was visible, but it was in the middle of a parking lot of a bunch of campers and surfers I was expecting that no one was even going to realize what it was. But they knew exactly what to look for. That and our food was all that they took.( yea the food that was low.) But they left my guitar in the back and thank god I already grabbed the beer other wise it might of gotten ugly. |
