When you're starting out, it's probably not that big of a deal if you really want one. It's between your legs, so it's really not in the way, just isn't too appealing to a lot of us (looks wise).

I plan on using my GoJoe for a few more weeks, until I'm less insecure about losing my new Jaime. I can't see using it on the day of the KB4C.

This brings up.... Are kiters more vain than windsurfers? I had a "Deviator" on one of my ws boards but took it off and fucking learned the hard way how to not snap the nose off. Way too goofy looking.

Painting my board with some "High-visibility" colors this week, should look pretty crazy.

JP and I've painted a few boards, but we use car paint and shoot a good clear on it after (finish is just like a car). I'm sure you get could spray paint to stick, but be sure to scuff it up well first (600-800 grit should do the trick).

Here's my "heavily modified" 2003 SX 136, which I cut down to ~103cm, re-shaped/glassed the ends, and sprayed.

Nice finish!
