G. Reed,

Next year I will be the big 40 and plan on making BOTG no matter what! Kiteloops, unhooked stuff, and handle passes better be judged for us old farts as I am finally starting to be able to throw this stuff and plan to clean up in the Masters next year!

Bam Bam,

I'm not sure if I should be more scared of seeing you screaming at me while I'm on the water or in the stands.

We'll miss your stoke this year.

Gary

Here's the latest plans. Similar to last year, we're going to have 3 categories which you can enter.

1. Best Trick
2. Kite Loop
3. Retro - this means all the old school moves (no handle passes or kite loops)

So you better practice your 1080's, board off's, CanCan's and DeadMen. We're also planning on putting more people on the water at a time again this year. Everyone was stoked with the action of having a lot of riders at once last year.

Play hard & Pray for Wind!

There will be lots of photographers and riders on the water on Friday the 20th.

Mountain Dew is going to be filming for a commercial so we hope lots of riders will be out there.

Party on, Garth!!! Smile We'll still break out the rum if anybody shows up but what do you guys think about postponing the event till next weekend? I know if will mess up the people who've traveled in specifically for the event but the lack of wind is going to do that anyway. The local sponsors can probably deal with the change to a better weekend.

We went to the Velocity games in Corpus this spring and they had the same thing happen - no wind for 3 days, no kites flying, no competitors, and most importantly, no spectators for the event. I think they will struggle next year to get the local sponsors involved as they did not get anything out of it.

The strapless event was kind of flexible this way - they wanted to go to the coast but because there was no wind they stayed in HR to make it go.

Just a thought!

Tony

I Agree. I think the event will go off better if the weather and Wind are there. Better to delay and have a great event than to have a potentialy bad event.
